See:  https://seattleaudubon.org/learn/youth-programs/nature-camp/

What is the Junior Naturalist program?
The Junior Naturalist program provides high school students the opportunity to earn the volunteer service hours while building leadership, teaching, public speaking, and science skills. Each summer, dozens of teens work alongside adult staff Naturalists, teaching younger children how to observe, enjoy, and appreciate the animals and plants of the Pacific Northwest. Adult staff act as mentors to the Junior Naturalists, encouraging you to become confident teachers and role models for the campers.

Who can apply?
High school teens who will be sophomores (10th grade), or older in the upcoming school year are encouraged to apply. Select paid internship positions are available for teens who will be juniors or seniors (11th or 12th grade.). ($110 stipend per week.) The position is ideal for teens interested in nature, science, birds, being outdoors, or working with children. A positive attitude and professional manner is required.

When would I volunteer?
Nature Camp holds 10 weeklong sessions throughout the summer. Junior Naturalists must sign-up for at least two full weeks (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.), but are welcome to apply for additional weeks if available. Select paid internship positions assist with afternoon Extended Care, and have additional or shifted hours. (Afternoon Extended Care is Monday-Friday, 3:30-5:45 p.m.) A required
Junior Naturalist training session will be held before the start of the summer season. Date TBD.

Where is Nature Camp?
Seattle Audubon Nature Camp is based at Magnuson Park in Northeast Seattle, in The Brig (Building 406) near the amphitheater. Full-day field trips to other Seattle parks are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Junior Naturalists ride with campers and Naturalists on chartered school busses to and from field trip destinations. Beginning 2023, we will also have sessions offered at Kruckeberg Botanic Garden in Shoreline, WA.
