Help Provide Free Summer Meals to the Community all summer

Shoreline Library / Free Summer Meals

June 26 - August 28, Mondays - Fridays, 11:30 - 1:15.  Volunteers can help at one or more sessions per week

Shoreline Library / 345 NE 175th

  • Volunteers will help to set up for the lunch service from 11:30-Noon.
  • Families eat from Noon-1:00, and volunteers help clean up from 1:00-1:15.
  • From 12:30-1:00 volunteers will be interacting with kids (primarily we get preschoolers and elementary-age students), including assisting with arts and crafts activities, playing board games with them, etc.

Note from Ms. Laurie Field, the lead at Shoreline Library:  What I am going to try to do this year that is a little different: when possible, I would like the teens to choose a book (I will have a supply of good picture-book read alouds handy), and read to families at tables while they are eating (Noon-12:30).  SO, having teens who would ENJOY reading a book to a small group of listeners at a table would be a bonus!  I can show them how if they aren't sure (I might have a short training session before the first lunch on June 26), AND the families we get are so nice and love to listen to stories! 😊  Perks: In addition to being pretty easy and also fun, teens can get eat a free meal if they would like.
