Chad Towe Selected as Principal at Shorecrest High School
Chad Towe has been selected to serve as the principal at Shorecrest High School beginning in the 2023-24 school year, Superintendent Susana Reyes announced. He will succeed John Green, who has been the school’s interim principal for the current school year. Chad will be joining the Shorecrest family from North Salem High School, a large and diverse Title I school near the state capitol in Salem, Oregon, where he is the current school principal.
Chad attended Washington State University for his undergraduate degree and Masters in Education. He spent 13 years teaching English Language Arts in international schools in Japan, the Bahamas, and Sweden, returning to the northwest to teach in Portland, Oregon. Chad earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon and has since been serving communities as a high school administrator in Springfield and Salem, Oregon.
A graduate of Shoreline schools himself, Chad shares, "I care deeply for Shoreline; it's an absolute honor to return home in service of students, staff, and community."
“Chad is clearly a passionate educator and valued leader with a wide variety of experiences, who will undoubtedly be an asset to Shorecrest and the Shoreline Schools community,” says Superintendent Reyes. “His work to expand access to equitable programs and a continued commitment to excellence for all students is impressive. Welcome back to Shoreline, Chad!”
