Black Lives Matter at School Week is February 6-10
Black Lives Matter at School Week will be celebrated in Shoreline Schools on February 6-10, 2023.
During Black Lives Matter at School Week, schools will offer important insights into critical issues that face our society and the lives in the Black community:
-
Reflect the lived experiences of students, families, and friends
-
Help students understand inequities based on race
-
Affirm that the lives of people of color matter
-
Promote the belief that we all have a responsibility to work for equity as a core ideal
Participation in Black Lives Matter at School Week is supported through our School Board-adopted Ethnic Studies Resolution. In part, it states, "We will engage in district-wide participation in Black Lives Matter at School during the annual week of action celebrated nationally through discussions and activities that take place in classrooms and beyond."
