Four Shorecrest Students Earn Scholastic Art Awards

Four Shorecrest students were recently recognized with Scholastic Art and Writing Awards from the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent.

Jasmine Chiu earned a Silver key for her drawing, Grandma Chiu.

Coleman Hirschman also won Silver Key for his art portfoflio and an Honorable Mention for mixed media piece, Column.

Emma Howlett won two Gold Keys for The Future is Upon Us and her art portfolio. She also earned three honorable mentions for Beneath a Marbled Sky, Fallen and Technicolor Daydream.

Julia Neils brought home a Gold Key for her artwork, Robo, and four Honorable Mentions for Concertmaster, Indirection, Ponder and Searching.

Gold Key winners are automatically advanced for national judging in New York City by nationally renowned creative professionals. Through the awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication and scholarships.
