North City Kindergarten Administrator Selected
Dr. Rosa Cabrera-Thompson
Dr. Rosa Cabrera-Thompson has been selected to be the North City Kindergarten Administrator, Superintendent Rebecca Miner announced on April 8. The appointment is subject to approval by the Shoreline School Board.
Dr. Cabrera-Thompson will feel right at home leading a school of kindergartners; she’s a former kindergarten teacher herself. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher and academic coach in Killeen, TX. She then served as an assistant principal and elementary principal for Houston Independent School District. Most recently, she’s served as an elementary principal in the Kent School District.
“I’m excited to be joining Shoreline Schools and returning to my original passion, which has always been in kindergarten,” said Dr. Cabrera Thompson. “As a former Kindergarten teacher, I look forward to a fun and exciting year filled with great opportunities for community building and academic growth for all of our students!”
Dr. Cabrera-Thompson, who is also fluent in Spanish, earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and her Master’s degree in International Relations from St. Mary’s University. She earned her Doctoral degree in Educational Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Dr. Cabrera-Thompson to Shoreline Schools,” said Superintendent Rebecca Miner. “Her passion, skills and knowledge will support this special community of our youngest learners, their families and school staff as they come together as a school community.”
