OSPI to Survey Shoreline Special Education Families

Shoreline Public Schools has been chosen by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to participate in the Washington Integrated System of Monitoring audit (WISM). This review is designed to promote special education program effectiveness, and ensure we meet our state supervision and oversight requirements for special education programs under state and federal law. It is an extensive and important review of our special education services. As a part of this WISM review process, parents/guardians of all enrolled students eligible for special education services in the our school district will have the opportunity to respond to a parent survey. This parent survey is intended to measure parent perception of the district’s attempts to partner with them.

Surveys will be mailed to parents beginning the week of February 25. The survey can also be completed online at:

Your input is important to help improve services and outcomes for all children with special needs. Your participation is voluntary and your responses will be kept completely confidential. Individual surveys will not be shared with any school district.

If you have questions about the survey process, please contact Jennifer Story, OSPI Program Review Coordinator at 360.725.6075.
