Educational Effectiveness Surveys Begin on October 28

Shoreline Public Schools is committed to continuous improvement throughout our school district. To support that work, we will again partner with the Center for Educational Effectiveness to conduct their Educational Effectiveness Surveys. These surveys measure students, staff and parent/guardian perceptual data based on OSPI's Nine Characteristics of High Performing Schools

Parents and guardians will receive an email on October 28 with a link to take the short 10-minute survey. Staff and students (grades 4-12) will also be asked to participate. The surveys are 100 percent anonymous and confidential. They are conducted annually to support our schools and staff as we work to continuously improve outcomes for all students. You can find last year’s district-level survey reports on our website HERE. You can also find school-level reports on each school’s website.

Nominate Your Favorite Teacher to be a Hero in the Classroom

Do you know a teacher who is a hero in the classroom? Nominate them for the Symetra and Seattle Seahawks Heroes in the Classroom Program. Selected teachers are recognized in front of their students and peers at surprise in-school presentations and receive a $2,000 donation for classroom supplies. In addition, they receive tickets to a Seahawks home game and are acknowledged during an on-field presentation at CenturyLink Field.

Teachers may be nominated by parents, staff, students or community members. The winners are selected based on their ability to make a real difference in students' lives, to go above and beyond in their day-to-day responsibilities and to help students build life skills.
