PALS AND PUMPKINS                                                                                                 

Friday, October 18th from 6:30 to 8:00 – Syre Gymnasium

Come enjoy time together with your Syre friends, carving your pumpkin and having light refreshments. You bring the pumpkin & the carving tools; we’ll clean up the mess. While you’re here, learn about the Watch DOGS program and hear how you can be a positive male role model on campus by volunteering just one day a year.

Pals and Pumpkins is hosted by your Syre PTA and Syre Watch DOGS. Volunteers needed for set up at 6:00, serving refreshments, and clean up.

Eligibility Requirements for Holiday Basket Recipients:

Must have a student in the Shoreline School District for the 2019-2020 school year OR a child 0-18 years of age living within the cities of Shoreline or Lake Forest Park.  College students(regardless of age) are not eligible for the gift program but should be included in the number in family.


Fill out the form online (preferred) OR with the family advocate at your child's school.

 CHECK-IN TIME WILL BE ASSIGNED via a letter sent by US Mail. Your letter with an assigned check-in time should arrive by the week of December 2nd. The letter will be in English.  Check the box on the form to receive the family letter in Spanish. 

We ask that you leave your students/children at home to protect their privacy as well as the privacy of other students.


Dandylyon Drama and SYRE PTA present a Junior Musical Opportunity for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students. 

Discover the secrets to overcoming stage fright while playing drama games and learning how to sing and dance in a group.  Junior Musical Club performers will be coached by a Dandylyon Drama Director, Choreographer, and Musical Director and perform the song “Bad Apples” as the opening act of the larger school musical. It’s a wonderful way to introduce younger kids to performing on the big stage in an age appropriate way.

Students must be available to participate in all the following rehearsals and both performances:

  • Thursday, Nov. 7th 11:45am-1:30pm @ Syre
  • Thursday, Nov. 14th  3:30pm-4:45pm @ Syre
  • Thursday, Nov. 21st 3:30pm-4:45pm @ Syre
  • Thursday, Dec 5th 3:30pm-5:30pm @ Syre
  • Friday, Dec 6th 5:45pm-7:30pm @ Shorewood H.S.
  • Saturday, Dec 7th 5:45pm-7:30pm @ Shorewood H.S.

Registration opens @ on Wednesday October 16th and closes on October 31st. Space is limited to 30 students and cost will be $80 (scholarships are available).

Artwise Northwest will be offering “Amazing Animals Half Day Art Camp” from Nov. 4 to Nov. 8 from 11:45 to 3:30 at Syre.  Students will remain at school for art camp after dismissal.

Join us for our District Health Curriculum Night on October 22, 2019 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Shoreline Room, Shoreline Center, 18560 1st Ave. NE. Director of Teaching and Learning Maria Stevens and Shoreline health teachers will preview the F.L.A.S.H. (Family Life and Sexual Health) and HIV/AIDS curriculum.


Release times for the fall and spring elementary conference weeks have been set. The schedule for those weeks is as follows. Fall Elementary Conferences: Monday-Friday, November 4-8 will be Half Day Early Release. Spring Elementary Conferences: Monday-Friday, March 2-6 will be Half Day Early Release.  Dismissal time for all of these dates, including Wednesdays will be 11:45 am but no conferences will be scheduled on Weds.
