MIXIT UP DAY in the Lunchroom is Coming to Syre Elementary School October 25 - Volunteers Needed

Volunteers needed!! Get ready to help Syre Wildcats make new friends and have some serious fun when we Mix It Up at Lunch on October 25th!!!   By taking a risk and sitting with new groups of people, students can cross the lines of division in a safe, supported environment, meet new people and help build an inclusive and welcoming school community.  At our Mix It Up Lunch, everyone will sit with someone new—and make new friends! Watch Dogs and volunteers, we need your help!!  We need adults at each table helping to facilitate conversation and dialogue between the students (we will support you with this part).  We need help to make this a fun and exciting event that the students will remember and make a lasting impact on Syre. Let’s make Syre even more positive and inclusive of all its students!  Please let us know if you can help by signing up Here- or enter this URL in your browser:

Calling all Syre fathers, grandfathers, uncles and guys of Syre students!  Join us for a big night of pumpkin carving and treats on Oct. 24 from 6:30-8:00 in the gym.  Bring a pumpkin, carving tools and your kids and join in the pumpkin carving at Syre!  We had such a great time last year that we will be prepared for a full gym of people this year!

We will also be kicking off our Watch Dog program at this event.  Watch Dogs are guys that want to be positive male role models at school.  They help out in their students’ classrooms, greet students as they arrive in the morning, and go out to recess to engage students and have fun.  Top Dogs, Brian Dunphy and Andy Finseth will be on hand to answer questions about the Watch Dog program and sign up folks that are ready to volunteer.  For more information please contact Brian Dunphy or Andy Finseth or inquire in the office.
