A Message from Our School Counselors

Hi MP Cheetahs!

(Disponible en español a continuación)

As the school year comes to a close, we wanted our last message to you to focus on transitioning into summer. It’s going to feel different, maybe even anticlimactic, but it’s important to still take a moment to acknowledge the end of this year of learning. Though we've missed seeing your faces in person over the past couple of months, we also have many wonderful memories from the time we did have together and from our Zoom snack bunches. Make sure to join us for our last one this week (details below)!

For all of our students, but especially our 5th and 6th graders moving on to middle school, we encourage you to join in your classroom’s moving up ceremonies. It won’t be the same as in person, and kids might have feelings of grief, but it is healthy to have closure and may help regulate emotions and ease into summer break.

While we don’t yet know what school will look like in the fall, your entire school community will be here for you regardless. We hope you take some time this summer to unplug and get outside.

Here are a few resources with fun ideas of things you can do at home this summer:

Your Counselors,

Mrs. McCain and Mrs. Fix

  1. S. A special note from Mrs. Fix: Some of you may already know that I won’t be coming back in the fall. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed getting to know all of you over the past two years and how much I will miss you! Meridian Park is a wonderful place and a special community. I am honored to have been part of it.
