June is Pride month! Students and staff will celebrate this month with activities to help students learn more about gender and identity and the history of Pride. In class, students will read children’s books related to identity, family, and LGTBQ+ history. You can view the lesson plans at this document 2020-2021 Pride Observance and the books at this link.
This year during the month of June, each building in Shoreline Public Schools will fly the Pride Flag on the flagpole. On June 1, we will have a ceremonial raising of the flag at 9:10 AM and 1:10 PM.
Staff and students on campus will socially distance around the front of the school to view the flag raising.
Families and students who are learning remote are also welcome to attend in cars along the field and school driveway.
Dress the rainbow OR wear your Pride shirt!
We appreciate the support of our LGTBQ+ staff and families in developing these resources. Please reach out if you have any questions. We value your perspectives and thinking.
