  • Kindergarten Lottery Drawings Set for March 27

    Kindergarten lottery drawings at all Shoreline elementary schools are scheduled for March 27. All incoming kindergarten students who were registered by the February 28 open enrollment deadline will be entered into the drawing at their neighborhood or selected magnet program (Cascade K-8).

  • Student works on sewing masks for our first responders!

    One of our amazing fourth graders is keeping busy at home helping her mom sew face masks for nurses. Doing math and grammar homework and taking time to keep our first responders safe. We love our Parkwood community!

  • Global Reading Team takes the District Championship (again)!

    Parkwood won (a second time in a row) against 11 other teams from the area!!! Since October our 4th & 5th grade students worked together to read and learn 5 books chosen by King County Library System to compete in a Global Reading Challenge. PW's representative team worked so hard and worked together with style and professionalism! Regional competition on March 17th in Kenmore.

  • Girls on the Run! March 9th-May 18th

    Girls on the Run is an afterschool program for girls in grades 3rd-6th. Together we will inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of kind. Girls develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.   • ¡Come eat and connect at Cafecitos! ¡Ven a comer y conectate en Cafecitos!

    Please join us at our next Cafecitos get together on Thursday, November 14 from 6:00 - 7:00pm. You are also welcome to stay and participate in our PTA meeting at 7:00pm. The purpose of Cafecitos is to provide a space for our Hispanic families to gather together, connect with our school community, and celebrate the many Hispanic cultures at Parkwood! The whole family is welcome. If you are willing and able, please bring a favorite food dish to share!

  • Award-winning teachers at Parkwood!

    Symetra and the Seattle Seahawks kicked off the 14th season of Symetra Heroes in the Classroom on Aug. 26 with a first for the teacher-recognition program, simultaneously honoring not one but two teachers from the same school. We are so proud of our Kindergarten teacher, Carla Salmon and third grade teacher Renee Iverson. Iverson and Salmon are among the 16 K–12 Puget Sound-area teachers that will be honored for educational excellence by the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom program during the 2019 NFL season.

  • Award Winning Parkwood!

    Parkwood Elementary has been selected as a State Recognized School by the State Board of Education (SBE), the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC). Parkwood is being recognized for high achievement in Math and School Quality Student Success (SQSS) measures. One of only 137 schools in the state to be recognized this awards represents 'true teamwork' of our Parkwood family.
