Summer School 2017 has ended. Summer school phones are no longer active. This webpage will be updated with Summer School 2018 information in the spring of 2018.
In our ongoing effort to provide an exemplary education for our students, the Shoreline School District is proud to invite your student to participate in our 2017 Summer School program. Our hope is that this program provides the extended learning opportunities, enhanced skill building and extra opportunities students need to reach their highest potential. To serve all students in the district, two programs will be offered:
Elementary Summer School
Elementary Summer School for grades K-6 will be held at Meridian Park Elementary from July 10 - August 4, 2017. It will run from 8:30-11:30am Monday-Friday. The Elementary Extended Learning Academy serves students in the Shoreline School District who are invited based on district assessments. This program is funded through Title I, LAP, and ELL. If your student qualifies for this intervention program, they will be receiving an invitation with registration information by the end of April from their school. Qualifying students will receive intervention in reading and math.
Registration has closed for Elementary Summer School. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any late registrations at this time due to capacity. If you registered on-time, you will be receiving a confirmation notice by mid-late June with bus routes and schedules.
The main Summer School phone number is (206) 393-4407. No one is available to answer this phone prior to the start of Elementary Summer School. Please plan on leaving a message. The Elementary Summer School staff will check messages regularly and return calls as quickly as possible. You may also contact us by email email@example.com.
Secondary Summer School
Secondary Summer School for grades 7-12 will be held at Shorecrest High School from July 10-August 4
ATTENTION: Please note that due to low enrollment numbers, the following classes will not run this summer:
- SAT Prep
We will update this list as we confirm additional classes that will not run.
Who attends Secondary Summer School?
Students enrolled in Shoreline Schools in grades 7-12 during the 2016-17 school year may attend Secondary Summer School. Students in 6th grade during the 2016-17 school year will attend Elementary Summer School.
If you are planning to enroll in SECONDARY Summer School, the following information applies. If you are planning to enroll in ELEMENTARY Summer School, please refer to that specific webpage.
Dates, Times, Location Information
SECONDARY SUMMER SCHOOL will be held at Shorecrest High School beginning on Monday, July 10 and continuing until Friday, August 4. Classes meet from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Monday – Friday during those four weeks.
The main Summer School phone number is (206) 393-4408. No one is available to answer this phone prior to the start of Summer School. Please plan on leaving a message. Summer School Office Manager: Sara Mondragon-Flores: firstname.lastname@example.org
Summer School Principal: Casey Campbell: email@example.com
Please refer to the SECONDARY SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM GUIDE for a complete listing of course offerings. Registration is completed by submitting the hardcopy registration form by mail. Registration is not done on-line. However, students/families may pay for a student’s tuition on-line (see payment information below).
IMPORTANT: Actual class offerings in Summer School depend on enrollment. For example, if only seven students register for a particular course available in the PROGRAM GUIDE then, most likely, that course would not actually be offered. In those cases, students/families are notified prior to the start of Summer School and they are refunded their tuition.
School bus transportation will be available for Summer School. We will provide a live link to the transportation website, once registrations are finalized. In the meantime we can share that the busses will pick up and drop off at the Shoreline school closest to your home. In addition we have busses that go to Polaris Apartments and Ballinger Homes. More information coming soon!
Online payments are available for elementary, middle and high school.

Secondary Summer School Announcements
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL APEX STUDENTS!
We will hold an Apex Orientation on Friday, July 7, at 12:30 P.M. at Shorecrest High School.
In this orientation we will:
- Distribute your new Apex Log-In Information. Passwords are reset at the start of summer school. If you have a current Apex password, it will not work for Summer School.
- Walk students and parents if they choose to attend through some basic Apex expectations and processes, including recommendations for how to manage one’s time.
IMPORTANT: Students registered for an Apex course through Summer School can begin their course on Monday, July 11th, and not before. Ideally students complete their coursework and their final exam for the course by the last day of Summer School (August 4). However, we will open the Apex lab for one additional day on Monday, August 14 from 8:00 - 10:00 to provide students with an additional opportunity prior to the class closing for the duration of summer.
