General Information

  • In our ongoing effort to provide an exemplary education for our students, the Shoreline School District is proud to invite your student to participate in our 2018 Summer School program. Our hope is that this program provides the extended learning opportunities, enhanced skill building and extra opportunities students need to reach their highest potential. To serve all students in the district, two programs will be offered:

    Elementary Summer School

Elementary Summer School for grades K-6 will be held at Echo Lake Elementary from July 9 - August 3, 2018. It will run from 8:30-11:30am Monday-Friday. The Elementary Extended Learning Academy serves students in the Shoreline School District who are invited based on district assessments. This program is funded through Title I, LAP, and ELL. Summer school at the elementary level is by invitation only, if your student qualifies for this intervention program, they will receive an invitation with registration information by the end of April from their school. Qualifying students will receive intervention in reading and math.

You may contact the summer school administrator by email: derek.dalasta@shorelineschools.org

UPDATE: I’m Derek Dalasta, your summer school principal for the 2018 summer, with an update for all of our families participating in our summer program this year. We are looking forward to the first day of school on Monday, July 9 at 8:30 AM. The summer bus routes are now activated in e-link on the district’s transportation website. To check the route and timing for your child:

    1. Go to the district website at www.shorelineschools.org
    2. Click “Departments and Programs”
    3. Click “Transportation”
    4. On the menu on the left, click “Student Bus Stops (e-link)”
    5. Click the link titled “Connect to e-Link”
    6. Use the generic username and password: username: shorelinefamily    password: password
    7. Enter your child’s grade level and your address
On the first day of school, we will have a welcome table set up at the school entrance. Students will check in at the welcome table to receive their class placement and to indicate if they ride the bus, get picked up by a parent, or walk home. If a student arrives by bus, we will assume that they will take the bus home unless we receive communication that says otherwise. If you are a parent of one of our younger students (K-3) and you are going to be picking up your child from school, please accompany your child to the check-in table on the first day so that we can be sure that we get the right information and make sure all of our students get where they need to be at the end of our instructional day.

Thanks so much for the support for our program this summer, email me or call the summer school phone line at 206-393-4407 with any questions.
    Derek Dalasta

Summer School Office Manager: Laura Steiner: laura.steiner@shorelineschools.org

Summer School Principal: Melyssa Stone: melyssa.stone@shorelineschools.org

Registration Information: Available on the left side of the page marked "Documents"

Please refer to the SECONDARY SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM GUIDE for a complete listing of course offerings. Registration is completed by submitting the hardcopy registration form by mail. Registration is not done online. However, students/families may pay for a student’s tuition online (see payment information below).

IMPORTANT: Actual class offerings in Summer School depend on enrollment. For example, if only seven students register for a particular course available in the PROGRAM GUIDE then, most likely, that course would not actually be offered. In those cases, students/families are notified prior to the start of Summer School and they are refunded their tuition.

    Transportation Information

School bus transportation will be available for Summer School. We will provide a live link to the transportation website, once registrations are finalized. In the meantime we can share that the busses will pick up and drop off at the Shoreline school closest to your home. In addition we have busses that go to Polaris Apartments and Ballinger Homes. More information coming soon!
