Summer Learning

  • Lake Forest Park teachers encourage our students to participate in summer reading programs found at the KCLS (Lake Forest Park, Shoreline, Richmond Beach) Libraries.

One of the benefits of visiting your public library over the summer is that it helps readers avoid "summer learning loss."  Students who read and learn over the summer continue to make academic progress and have a strong start their new school year.

Visit your library's website to place holds on books.  The Librarians will find your books and put them aside for you.  When you visit the Library, the books will be waiting for you to check out. It's easy!

    Keyboarding Practice

To practice keyboarding skills, students in grades 3-6 can login to typingclub.com using their district Google account.  This free online keyboarding program will teach them how to type and track their progress.  It is recommended that students spend just 10 minutes a day working on keyboarding.
