CHEER, DANCE DRILL, FLAGS AND HIP HOP TEAMS
Cheer tryouts are usually held the first two weeks of March. To tryout girls must be a sophomore or junior with a 2.5 accumulative GPA. Details of cost vary slightly each year. The cost includes camp, clothes, uniforms, and shoes worn 2-3 days a week. SW Cheerleaders do not compete; however, they participate in leadership activities, service, volunteer work, assembly activities, school spirit events and games throughout the school year. The cheerleaders practice 4-5 days a week during the summer in the morning, attend a four day camp and have the opportunity to have two weeks off for vacation in the summer time. Dance Drill tryouts are held in June. To tryout girls must be a freshmen, sophomore or junior with a 2.5 accumulative GPA. Details of cost vary slightly each year. The cost includes camps, uniforms, shoes, and Invitationals/Districts/State competition costs. SW Dance Drill competes from November to the end of March. The drill team supports band performances at football games, provides leadership, service, volunteer work, assemblies and basketball halftime performances. The girls practice 4-5 days a week during the summer in the morning or evening, attend camp and have the opportunity to have two or more weeks vacation time depending on the year and performances.
