Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (Commonly referred to as PBIS) is framework that helps create a safer, more effective learning environment by reinforcing positive behavior and preventing and wisely responding to behavior that interferes with learning. At Echo Lake this year we will be focusing on applying PBIS systems to our public spaces such as the hallways, bathrooms, lunchroom and playground. Echo Lake will have clearly defined and posted expectations around the school and the expectations will be taught in each classroom and positively reinforced throughout the building. We would love for families to have the expectations posted at home as well!
