MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT and PRINCIPAL DUNBAR

Dear Shoreline Schools, Staff, Families and Students,

Our schools, community and nation have endured countless challenges and hardships throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Through it all, I have been inspired by and thankful for the resilience and strength you have shown as well as your consistent care and compassion for others.

As we begin to implement our in-person hybrid learning option, staff have created this document to share our plans to provide students and staff with a healthy and safe teaching and learning environment. Our team has worked closely with and received guidance in developing this plan from the Washington Department of Health, Public Health – Seattle & King County and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We are prepared and look forward to continuing to provide meaningful learning opportunities for all students as we increase learning options. As we begin hybrid learning, we will continue to focus on the needs and development of all our students. Our teachers and staff will continue to provide world-class academic opportunities, while supporting the social, emotional and physical needs of each student they work with.

This guide will provide information on new procedures and protocols for buildings, grounds, buses and food service operations that will be implemented. This document will be updated as necessary based on Public Health recommendations. You can find the most current revision date on the front cover.

    Sincerely,

    Rebecca Miner

    Superintendent

    Dear Shorewood Students and Families,

We are very excited to return students to  the Shorewood campus for hybrid in person learning for the last few months of school this year.  The opportunity to learn in person enriches what we can do, how we can learn together and provides for greater connection in community.  Our teachers and staff will continue to provide engaging academic opportunities, while supporting each student in learning.

As we begin hybrid learning, our staff asks that you review this guidance with your student prior to  their return to campus. We will also provide some instruction on these new expectations at school.  We ask our students to participate in new safe campus management guidelines from the department of health in order to help limit the spread of illness in our greater community.   We are grateful for the opportunity to provide instruction in person while supporting the social, emotional and physical needs of each individual. Please join us in keeping the return safe as can be.

This guide will provide information on new procedures and protocols for Shorewood operations that will be implemented as we return to school.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Dunbar

    Principal
