John Hendrix-Music Teacher
I have 20 years in Shoreline, teaching choir at Shorewood High School and Einstein Middle School, as well as elementary music at several schools — Ridgecrest, Lake Forest Park, Highland Terrace, and Meridian Park. I also direct two choirs with the Seattle Children’s Chorus, and my church choir in Edmonds. In my off time I enjoy reading, travel, and playing with my grandchildren. I received my BA from Seattle Pacific University, and my Master’s degree from Western Washington University. The last book I finished was “All the Light You Cannot See”, by Anthony Doerr.
My summer has been filled with a trip to England, mainly in Bristol, singing with a choir, entertaining guests at home (visiting family members),helping my wife take care of our beautiful yard
Yet to come in August is traveling to California to attend a wedding and spend a few days seeing the sights
“I am looking forward to meeting the students and having fun — playing, listening, moving, singing, and making music!”

These activities may include: singing, playing instruments, movement/dance, reading musical notation, listening to a variety of musical styles, composition and improvisation.
