Parents, Students, Staff, and Community Members,

I am exited to be joining the North City Kindergarten Program! As a former Kindergarten teacher, I know there is no better experience than being around 5 and 6 year olds.

I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher and academic coach in Texas. I then served as an assistant principal and elementary school principal for Houston Independent School District (7th largest school system in the nation). I'm most notably known for turning low performing schools into the highest performing schools in the district and state. I've had several recognitions for my work in Literacy and providing a blue-print for Houston ISD's Literacy by 3 program. I most recently served as an elementary principal at a dual language school in the Kent School District. I've been a school leader for 8 years and am still very passionate about the work and calling to lead.

I am fluent in Spanish, love hiking, kayaking, and traveling. I'm an avid reader (I read at least 50 books a year). I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University, my Master’s degree from St. Mary’s University. And earned my Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership/Administration with my Superintendent's certificate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Fun Facts: I lived in Germany for 4 years, I have a 17 year son, I served in the U.S. Army Reserves, and I'm currently a part-time law student.

I believe in being a servant leader and keeping an open door policy. If there is anything we can do to support you, please do not hesitate to ask or drop-in. Our school welcomes families and your partnership.

I look forward to what I know will be an amazing year, partnership, and journey!
