Degrees and Certifications:
I am a wife, mother, and teacher. I have wanted to teach since I was a little girl lining up my stuffed animals for instruction. My father was military and so I have intimate knowledge of the young mind that lives the nomadic life of an army brat. Born in Germany, I attended 13 different schools from grades K-12 . This provided me with many unique experiences such as traveling through Checkpoint Charlie to visit East Germany. I graduated at Munich International School with a class size of 57 including 23 different nationalities. My experiences have introduced me to many cultures and taught me tolerance as well a love of differences. After teaching for the overseas for DoDE for 13yrs I returned stateside and returned to Washington where in 2015 I was hired here at Syre Elementary School. As an educator, I have a passion for teaching children how to become life-long learners so that they can continue to learn outside the traditional classroom. My style of teaching is to create an environment that enriches learning and to foster experiences that create a love of learning - bottom line I love what I do and want to have fun doing it.
