Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Susie Moore and I am the Family Advocate here at Brookside.
The role of the family advocate is to partner with students, families and staff in order to provide support and resources to meet the needs of our families.
Family Advocates can provide support in many different ways, including but no limited to:
- community resources / referrals
- short term consultation / support
- assistance during a family crisis or transitions
- teaming with families and school staff to help support students in reaching academic and behavioral goals
If your family needs assistance at any point this school year please do not hesitate to contact me. You're welcome to stop by the school to visit me, or send me an email or give me a call.
I'm passionate about supporting all kids and families in being able to have happy and fulfilling educational experiences and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work at Brookside in this role. My background is in family support and social services. I have a BA in Psychology from University of Washington and a MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. I have two kids who attend schools in the Shoreline School District - my son, Jamie, is at Lake Forest Park Elementary, and my daughter, Grace, is Shorecrest. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, listening to music, knitting, and spending time with my family.
I look forward to working together towards a happy and successful year!
