Janet Markwardt

I am the Cascade K-8 Community School LAP/Reading teacher.   I have been in this position for four years, and this is truly my dream job.  I have a master's degree in Literacy and Education from Seattle Pacific University, and teaching endorsements in Reading, ELL, and English Language Arts.  Reading, and helping students learn to read, is my passion.  Teaching a student to read and develop the love of reading is the most important part of eduction. (Yes, I am a little biased :) 

When not reading with students at Cascade K-8, my days are filled being a mom to two active kids, helping my husband tear out ivy and blackberries at our new-to-us house, and exploring the great outdoors with famiy and friends.
