Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from Western Washington University in 2008 with a B.A in Interdisciplinary Child Development and my WA Teaching Certificate. Graduating the year when districts had to do RIFF's wasn't great but I had some wonderful substitute jobs in Kindergarten, First, Third and Fourth grades. During the summer of 2010, I was hired in the Shoreline School District for their Summer Extended Learning program. That led me to getting hired at Highland Terrace. This school has been a warm, welcome into the teaching world! Parents, staff and students have been so great and I am enjoying my time here!

Hello Families of Room 14!
Welcome back to school! I'm very excited about our 3rd grade year. We are going to work hard and have fun while doing it! It was great to meet some of you at the Open House and I can't wait to meet everyone.
A little bit about me...
I live in the Lynnwood area with my family. I have a daughter Layla who is almost 11 years old and a son, Bjorn, who is 9. Both attend Highland Terrace, Layla in 5th and Bjorn is in 4th. To say the least, we have a busy house!
I grew up in the Snohomish area, went to Shoreline Community College after graduating high school. After a few years working with children in various settings, I decided to become a teacher.
Besides my professional side...
I love spending time with my family taking short trips around the PNW, being outside and just being together. I LOVE to play soccer! I've been playing since I was 6 or 7 years old and still play throughout the year. I even had the chance to play against the Turkish National team and even scored a goal! It was a pretty proud moment that I will never forget. I also love to read. I have a stack of "to read" and "already read" books in my room. I believe we are all life long learners so I can't stop feeding my brain information. If you have any recommendations for books, pass them along!
I know I will enjoy this year and am looking forward to all the great activities. I hope this gave you a chance to get to know me a little more!
