Class Overview

  • Culinary Arts is a year long “hands on” course designed to introduce and prepare students for employment in the food service industry or further their education in a culinary school. This is a Tech Prep course and students will be able to earn college credit in the class if a B or better is earned. Course curriculum includes sanitation and safety, tools & equipment, knife skills, cooking methods, food identification, food preparation and execution, meal planning, catering and banquet skills. The students will have many opportunities to cater both small and large functions.  Guest speakers may share culinary expertise, teach concepts, assist with a catered event, or acquaint students with one of the culinary schools in the U.S. Find out more about our class here!

Tammi Johnston

Tammi Johnston is a graduate of The Seattle Culinary Academy. Her experience as a food service professional includes fine dining to catering for some of Seattle's premier restaurants. She enjoys sharing her passion for food with students and hopes they leave the Culinary Arts program with an appreciation for the many opportunities within the food industry.
