Ms. Thompson

Hello! I'm Carrie Thompson, and I am teaching 1st grade in Room 7 at Echo Lake this year. I've taught for almost 30 years. I began my career in the Highline School District, and have been at Echo LAke for 20 years. In that time, I have been the special education teacher, reading specialist, and taught kindergarten, 3rd and 5th grade. I am never bored at Echo Lake! I love the diversity, warmth and community I found here. Go Eagles!

I grew up in Texas. My family enjoyed vacations in the Seattle area when I was a child and I couldn't wait to make Seattle my new home. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, long walks and playing my ukulele. 

Our year is off to a strange start with online learning, but I believe we are up to this challenge. We will work hard to build a strong classroom community and we will learn and grow together. I am so excited to start this 1st grade journey with your family!
