Class of 2022

  • Senior Class Meeting - Friday, October 22:

    Ms. Stephens:

Please read your k12 email, at least look over the contents that are at the top of each message. Right now there is a lot of college application information, but there will be lots of other topics that apply to all seniors through the year.
Naviance is absolutely necessary if you are applying to colleges. It’s how we help you and how we send your materials. See the College Applications page for step-by-step instructions.
The FAFSA or WASFA are open, and nearly all students who are heading to any sort of college or some career training programs should fill it out. We recommend doing so by midwinter break if possible. See the Senior Families, Complete the FAFSA/ WASFA headline on the Shorewood College & Career home page.
The Community Service Graduation Requirement has been rescinded for the Class of 2022. You will not be expected to serve at least 40 hours to graduate from Shorewood. However, if you have already accrued 40 hours or 80+ hours, you are eligible for an award that will be presented at the end of the school year. See the headline on the Shorewood College & Career home page.

    Mr. McCorkle:

Seniors, please see the newly posted counselor check-in found in the class of 2022 Canvas page - this is a concrete chance to make a connection with your counselor, please take advantage!
Senior letters, credit summaries, and copies of your transcripts are on the way in the mail. This is a record of completed credit to date, and indicates which subject area categories your current in progress classes are meeting. Please review this when it arrives home, and if you have questions or see errors please let your counselor know.
Students applying to university may need counselor letters of recommendation. It is the responsibility of students to confirm that a letter of recommendation is needed. Please connect directly with your counselor if you need a letter, and provide a completed Counselor Brag Sheet - more info on the letter of rec tab on the counseling center webpage. As some deadlines fall close to school breaks, please note these deadlines:
Applications due December 1 = Submit brag sheet to counselor by November 19
Applications due January 1-5 = Submit brag sheet to counselor by December 10
There is a mental health provider from Ryther Outpatient Mental Health Clinic providing services at Shorewood on Fridays, in effort to remove barriers to mental health. See your Shorewood Counselor if you would like more information.
