• Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

The purpose of implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is to ensure that all schools provide equitable access to a wide range of supports and interventions that promote positive behavior and help students develop self-discipline and social and emotional efficacy.  PBIS is:

      • a multi-level instructional framework aimed at improving outcomes for ALL students.

      • a preventive system that uses data to provide immediate support to students who are at-risk for poor learning outcomes.

      • a flexible service model, not a placement model.

    • District Implementation Team

The district implementation team (DIT) supports building implementation of PBIS through policy and systems alignment, building stakeholder support, funding, data systems and long range planning.  The DIT uses the PBIS Blueprint Assessment to target areas for growth and to create an action plan.
