• Each summer all of our Journey students complete a project during the summer where they build something and then write about the process and what they built.

    • Summer 2019 our project is called "Package the Pringle" and the goal is to build packaging from recycled material to pack and send a single pringle through the mail to someone as far away as you can. The packaging you build must have its mass and volume measured, and the goal is to make both of these as small as possible.
      • The size of your package is the size of what you are sending through the mail, not a smaller box you put inside of a mailing envelope or box.
      • If there is an issue with measuring the mass of your project, contact Becca at rebecca.drury@shorelineschools.org.
      • The grade on the actual thing you've built is based on a scoring rubric that the person you are mailing the project to will fill out, measurements you enter in an online form, a set of photos of the project that you need to collect as you go.
      • The grade on the technical report is based on a rubric for technical writing.
      • Use the Designmaker Pre-Write document to help you prepare for the technical report.
      • Use this form to give me the mass and volume of your project.
    • If you are a friend or family member of a Journey student, you may go to this site to evaluate the state of the Pringle when it gets to you and any comments you might have.
