Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy
The occupational and physical therapy program at Parkwood consists of 2 specialists: an occupational therapist (OT) and a physical therapist (PT). We work with students on their individual goals and promote student independence within the school setting. The OT works with students who would benefit from support in performing tasks that are necessary to participate in the classroom such as using scissors, dressing skills, handwriting, etc.
The PT helps students with skills they need to participate in PE, recess and moving around the school. We love serving the students here at Parkwood
The OT/PT department uses a variety of assessments and information gathered from a student’s teacher and from the family to determine whether or not a student is able to receive OT or PT services at school.
Students receiving services could be referred by a teacher or a parent.
