    Coach Wyatt Tonkin

    Coach Wyatt Tonkin is entering his 22st season as the skipper of the Shorewood Baseball Team.  In twenty years, Shorewood teams have amassed 342wins, along with multiple league titles and five trips to the state championship final four. In 2017 Coach Tonkin was elected to the Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. Coach Tonkin grew up in the Beacon Hill neighborhood and attended O'Dea High School where he was an all state infielder on the baseball team and a three sport letter-man.  After high school Coach Tonkin played baseball at Bellevue Community College and eventually moved on to pitch for the University of Washington.  In the 1976 Major League Baseball draft Coach Tonkin was selected by the Atlanta Braves organization.  Wyatt was happily married to his wife of 33 years Alice, and has two sons: Shea and Tyler who are both graduates of Shorewood High School.  Shea is currently the head baseball coach at Roosevelt High School in Seattle.  Tyler is an aviator in the United States Navy.
