Student drop off and pick up: Please do not drop off or pick up your student in the front parking lot of the main building for student safety and for the ease of our busses who rely on this area being open. Busses are traveling throughout the school day to provide transportation to and from Shorewood so these bus lanes need to remain open during school hours. To pick up or drop off your student please go to the north parking lot (driveway is located behind, north of, the theater). Please follow the signs to loop around the lot and pick up your student outside the building (for students, they will need to exit out the door by the green stairs).

September is Attendance Awareness Month! You can help by encouraging your students to start off the school year with a focus on being in school on time, every day.

If you need to contact the attendance office, please email sc.attendance@shorelineschools.org or call the attendance line directly at (206) 393-4294.

Click for a brief overview of our attendance policy. The full attendance policy can be found on the Shorecrest website: https://www.shorelineschools.org/Page/668

On October 25, many Shorecrest students will be taking the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) here at Shorecrest High School. We will follow an altered testing schedule that day that is posted on the SC calendar on the website. All sophomores will take the PSAT free of charge and you will receive more information in your English class. Juniors! Be sure to sign up to take the PSAT on October 25, especially if you plan to apply to four-year colleges next fall. You will receive more information and a test-prep booklet when you register. Pay $16 at the ASB window between Monday, October 2 to Wednesday, October 18. See your counselor with questions or if you need fee assistance.

Tardy Tank will be starting on Wednesday, September 27! If you have more than 5 tardies you will receive a slip each Tuesday in your Highlander Home classroom and an email will be sent home to your parents on Fridays. Each Tardy Tank will make up 5 tardies! This year Tardy Tank is ONLY offered on Wednesdays from 2:45-3:30 in room 250. Make sure to bring work or a book to read. There is no talking, no food, and no electronics during this time, and if you are late you will not be allowed in. If the room is full you will have to come a different day. Make sure to plan accordingly! There will also be some Saturdays this year where you can come in for homework help and to make up your tardies. These dates and times will be noted on your tardy tank slip and in the email to your parents. Remember if you have 10 or more tardies you will not be able to buy a homecoming ticket! Make sure you are getting to class on time and getting your tardies made up so you can attend homecoming! Remember, one of our SCOTS values is being on time!

Seniors: Want to get feedback on your application college personal statement? You need to register in advance for a feedback session on October 23 or November 27. Pick up a form from your English teacher or in counseling. Registration costs $15, or see your counselor for fee assistance.

Can you read and write another language? You can take a test that can earn you up to 4 graduation credits! Talk to your counselor before September 27 or ask Ms. Hulbert in room 232.

Students, if you had the Summer Opt-Out plan, you need to pay your insurance and pick up your iPad by Friday, 9/29. The iPads not picked up will be wiped and issued to other students.

Mobile Dental Clinic is coming to Shorecrest! Do you need a dentist? Do you have any mouth pain? Has it been more than a year since your last app? Please see the SC Nurse if you answered yes to any of these questions and she will have a questionnaire for you to complete.
