Degrees and Certifications:
Hello . . . Welcome to my page!!
My name is Carin Claus and this is my first year at Echo Lake Elementary. Before coming to Shoreline School District, I worked as an Education and Behavior Consultant for Brooks Powers Group, and taught at the University of Washington, Experimental Education Unit. I also worked as a Preschool Special Education teacher for 6 years in Spokane, Washington.
I am originally from the greater Seattle area and moved back four years ago to complete a Masters in Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, program at the University of Washington. Go Huskies!!! After attending the UW, I became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. In addition to my Masters Degree from the UW, I have a Masters in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, from Eastern Washington University.
I currently live in Seattle and enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, live music, UW football, traveling and exploring the area. My favorite place is Decatur Island, where I spend time with my extended family each summer. I have recently traveled to Italy and Japan. I also go to Mexico to visit my parents every February.
I am so excited and thrilled to be given the opportunity to teach the Intensive Learning Support (ILS) Kindergarten/First Grade class this year!!!
