February 14, 2017: Shoreline and Lake Forest Park voters approve the construction of an Early Learning Center and the rebuilding of Parkwood Elementary School, Kellogg Middle School, and Einstein Middle School.
May, 2017: DLR Group selected as Parkwood's architectural and engineering firm.
May, 2017: Parkwood's Design Advisory Team established.
Beginning June, 2017: DLR Group begins meeting with Parkwood's Design Advisory Team to establish a collaborative process for input into the design and construction of our new building.
June, 2017: Derek Dalasta hired to serve as half-time assistant principal to assist with school operations during the design and construction process.
September, 2017: Design Advisory Team concludes its work with the DLR group. Community presentation on Tuesday, September 26th at 6:00 p.m. in the Parkwood library.
2017-2018 school year: Parkwood's last year in the current building. Design Advisory Team, Parkwood stakeholders, and DLR Group collaboratively design a building that meets the visionary learning needs to students for years to come. At the end of this school year, Parkwood will relocate to the North City Elementary site while construction activities occur on the current site of Parkwood on NE 155th and Wallingford Ave N.
August, 2018: Derek Dalasta hired as the administrator for the kindergarten program at Meridian Park Elementary. Jennifer Eklund selected to serve our communities as Parkwood's new assistant principal.
2018-2019 school year: Parkwood students, staff, and communities work for one year at the North City site while the existing Parkwood is demolished and then rebuilt at the current Parkwood location on NE 155th and Wallingford Ave N.
Fall 2019: Parkwood leaves North City and moves into a brand new building on the current site of Parkwood (at NE 155th and Wallingford Ave N).
