Family Advocate 2021

Hi Parkwood Families-

I’m Inger Murdock.  I know some of you as I’ve worked at Parkwood since December of 2018 and as the Family Advocate for the last year.  I love the Parkwood community. 

What does a Family Advocate do?

I work with families to obtain information and resources needed to connect them with community agencies.  I work with families seeking housing, food and clothing resources.   I also work closely with teachers, the school counselor, dean, nurse, registrar and principal to create family to school partnerships and help with family engagement in education.

Soy Inger Murdock. Conozco a algunos de ustedes porque he trabajado en Parkwood desde diciembre de 2018 y como Defensor de la Familia durante el último año. Me encanta la comunidad de Parkwood.

¿Qué hace un defensor de la familia?

Trabajo con las familias para obtener la información y los recursos necesarios para conectarlos con agencias comunitarias. Trabajo con familias que buscan vivienda, alimentos y ropa. También trabajo en estrecha colaboración con los maestros, la consejera escolar, la decana, la enfermera, la registradora y la directora para crear asociaciones entre la familia y la escuela y ayudar con la participación de la familia en la educación.
