Reading Curriculum:
K-6: The adopted literacy curriculum for Kindergarten is Superkids published by Zaner-Bloser. The adopted literacy curriculum for 1st through 5th grade is Reading Wonders, published by McGraw-Hill. The curriculum for 6th grade is SpringBoard, published by the College Board.
7-12: SpringBoard, a curriculum developed by The College Board (makers of Advanced Placement exams and the SAT), is a pathway of learning in grades 7-12 designed to prepare students to succeed in challenging classes, like Advanced Placement classes. For students who do not plan to take Advanced Placement courses SpringBoard provides all students with a rigorous education for success in college, career, and independent living, the mission of the Shoreline School District. In addition, SpringBoard is aligned to the new Common Core State Standards for Language Arts, which supports students in preparation for the MSP and SBA assessments.
