The menu’s posted to the website menu page have an allergy link which provides allergy information for recipes on the menu. The allergies that the recipes flag are the top 8 allergens which are: soy, wheat, milk, peanut, treenut, egg, fish and shellfish. While there are many more ingredients that can cause allergic reactions, the top 8 are the only ones required on nutrition labels, therefore, these are the ones the menu planner can track. If a menu item does not generate in the allergen list pop-up window, this generally means that it does not contain any of the top 8 allergens (fresh oranges, for example, will not be listed on the allergen list because it does not contain any of the top 8 allergens). If you are not sure, please contact the Food and Nutrition Services Office for further clarification.
*All allergen information is taken directly from manufacturer’s labels and databases and is subject to change without notice. The Food and Nutrition Services Department does everything we can to accommodate special dietary needs, however, the safest meals are those brought from home.
