EINSTEIN MIDDLE SCHOOL MONDAY, MAY 22, 2017 #150
TODAY WE HAVE ALL PERIODS!
MAY IS RESPECT MONTH: “Respect...is appreciation of the separateness of the other person, of the ways in which he or she is unique.” Annie Gottlieb
Shoes and Hats: Guess what folks? The shoes you wear to school are yours and should stay on your feet. The hat you bring to school is yours and you stay on your head. To our students who are thinking it’s funny or a game to take a person’s shoe or hat and run off it with - guess what, it’s not funny and it’s not a game. Stop it. Students who continue to try to take part in this immature action will get to join us in detention or have other consequences. It’s really not that hard, Tigers. Keep your hands and feet to yourself and stop taking other people’s things.
Lock out drill coming up- It is very important to remember that this drill is practice for a lock out, which is very different from a lock down. In a lock out, we are simply practicing locking out a hazard outside the building. In other words, a hazard that may be occurring in the community around us- not a school intruder.
Any GIRL interested in playing soccer for SW next Fall? You need to get your athletic packet turned in by the end of June. If you need a new physical the forms need to be turned in by June 16. See Mr. Harris if you have any questions.
LIBRARY TRIVIA: Who was the first female director of the Royal Greenwich Observatory? Her name was Margaret Burbidge and she was an astronomer who made notable contributions to the theory of quasars, to the way we measure the rotation and mass of galaxies, and also helped us understand how chemical elements are formed in the depths of stars through nuclear fusion! If you had the right answer, come to the library on Tuesday to get your prize as Ms. Dame is not here today. The new question will also be posted tomorrow.
PIZZA & BOOKS: The final pizza & books meeting will happen this Wednesday, May 24th. Everyone is welcome to join us as we eat pizza and talk about the books we’ve been reading. Let Ms. Dame know if you’ll be attending so that she can order enough pizza.
ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE JUNE 1ST! All books must be returned in order to get your yearbooks. If you have lost a book, please come talk to Ms. Dame or Ms. Ching to find out what your options are.
