He’ll talk about how he works with students, answer your questions, and present on the positive approaches to discipline being used at Syre that improve school climate and learning and support students’ full development.

DONATIONS NEEDED! GOT SNACKS!!?

Hello wonderful Syre Community!  As part of my role as Family Advocate I supply snacks to students in need throughout the day.  Additionally we partner with First Lutheran to send home food packs on Friday so our students have enough food over the weekends and on extended holiday breaks.  We would really appreciate any donation of snacks that we could give out during school as well as to supplement weekend food bags.

Favorite items tend to be:

- individual bags of goldfish / annie’s crackers

- granola bars

- fruit snacks

- mini-muffins

- cheese / pb cracker packs

- shelf stable milk (for weekend packs)

Thank You!!

Kristina Weidert, MSW

SYRE GOLDEN ACORN NOMINATIONS

Keep an eye out for the Golden Acorn nomination forms that will be distributed in next Tuesday's Kidmail.  This is our opportunity to acknowledge an outstanding educator, student advocate and an extraordinary parent volunteer. Please take the time to fill out these forms so that we can honor those who make our school such a special place for our children.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR 2017-18 IS UNDERWAY!

Kindergarten registration is underway at Syre. All students registered by Feb. 28 will have equal access to Syre and a lottery will be done on March 15 if it is needed.  Registration after February is ongoing and all students are guaranteed a spot in Shoreline School District but will be placed at Syre on a space available basis.

In order to attend kindergarten in the fall, your child must be five years old by August 31, 2017 and reside in the Syre attendance area.  At this time Shoreline schools are closed to elementary age students who reside outside the District.  Please help us spread the word to neighbors who have children of enrollment age.

For more information on registration please visit the enrollment webpage at:www.shorelineschools.org/enrollment.
