Volunteers are welcome in all Shoreline Schools. The Shoreline School District is in a suburban residential community directly north of Seattle and includes the cities of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. Volunteers are encouraged to choose a location that is convenient to them, usually the neighborhood school where their own children attended. Volunteers often choose a location by the program they are most interested in. For instance, math tutors may choose to work with the high schools. Volunteers serve a minimum of one hour a week depending on their volunteer job. Some volunteers may work up to 12 hours a week or 5 days a week. The level of commitment is determined by the volunteer assignment and the volunteer’s needs. Most assignments are flexible enough that volunteers can still schedule vacation and other travel during the school year.
