New volunteers fill out a RSVP application and receive a Washington State Patrol Background check before starting work in the schools. Volunteers wear picture identification, as all school staff, so that adult volunteers are easily recognized by parents and children. Volunteers keep track of their volunteer hours which are transmitted monthly to King County RSVP. These volunteer hours are important in attributing the amount of service that is given by our senior citizen population and helps direct more federal dollars to services for seniors.

If you are 55 years or older and would like to volunteer with the Power of One, fill out this application (PDF) and the Washington State Criminal Background Check form (PDF). Please e-mail the forms to the Volunteer Coordinator at cathy.liu.scott@shorelineschools.org.
