Shorewood to present new adaptation of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"
Shorewood High School Drama will present "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Performances are Nov. 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21 at 7:30 pm in the Shorewood HS Theater, 17300 Fremont Ave. N.
Tickets are available for $6 and $8 at Shorewood and Beach House Greetings, 626 NW Richmond Beach Rd, west of the QFC in Shoreline. Matinee performances for elementary school students will be the week of Nov. 16.
This production takes a novel approach to the beloved book, as characters act out favorite lines from the dialogue and narration. Alice shows her many sides as she encounters the familiar characters of Wonderland. Colorful costumes, new music, and Lewis Carroll's clever language will appeal to all ages. The script is adapted from the original text by drama teacher and director Barb Lachman.
There is a large cast of 28. A crew of more than 30 will create a variety of technical devices to make Alice grow and shrink as she encounters the challenges of Wonderland. Mozell Gibbons is the stage manager and Ciela Valle-Olguin is the assistant stage manager. Sets and lights are by Marc McCartney, and costumes are designed by Viveca Sanai. Crew heads are Cole Sweeten, Tim McGowan, Matt Delaney, Christy Samuels, Ellen Olsen, Heather Ellis, Rachael Haensly, Meredith Hill, Senie Chernuhina, Lilly Adams and Megan Duncan.
