Traffic Alert: 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer starts in Shoreline Friday, Sept. 11
The Seattle Breast Cancer 3-day Walk begins in Shoreline on Friday morning, Sept. 11. Families taking their children to schools in the area of the walk – particularly Shorewood, Einstein, Highland Terrace and Syre – may want to leave extra time getting to school. Shoreline Schools bus service is not expected to be significantly affected, but some buses could be delayed. The 3,000 walkers will begin just after 7 a.m. following opening ceremonies at Shoreline Community College.
The walkers should reach Shorewood at 7:10 a.m. and be streaming by until after 8 a.m. They will then proceed to the intersection of 3rd and Richmond Beach Road near Einstein between 7:30 and 8:45 a.m., and then near Syre on Richmond Beach Road between 7:45 and 9 a.m.
This will impact traffic coming to these schools. Shoreline Police are handling the traffic control while the walkers are in the city.
Shoreline neighborhood associations are hosting cheering stations along the route for the Seattle Breast Cancer 3-day walk route, including at Shorewood, the QFC parking lot along Richmond Beach Road and the Richmond Beach library.
