Board approves potential private funding of C teams

The Shoreline School Board agreed at its May 19, 2008 meeting to allow potential private funding of C teams on an annual basis. C teams would be offered for the 2009-10 school year at both Shorecrest and Shorewood High Schools in boys and girls soccer, boys baseball and girls tennis if full funding is secured by Aug. 1, 2009. The total cost of the programs is estimated to be $69,000. The School Board also agreed that all C teams would need to be funded for the programs to be offered. C teams will not be offered for 2008-09 as private funds were not offered by the Aug. 1, 2008 deadline. The District’s athletic office will direct those wishing to assist in this effort to those individuals in the community raising funds for C teams. Funds will not be solicited or collected by the District.
