Dear Parents and/or Guardians of Shoreline Students:
RE: Boundary/Attendance Area Revisions and Program Placements
At the May 21 board meeting, the Shoreline School Board approved a plan that will revise the elementary school attendance boundaries and school/program placements effective for the 2007-08 school year.
Attached you will find a map of the new attendance areas and a list of the school/program placements. If your child will be directly impacted by one of the changes represented in this plan, you will receive notification of your new school assignment in the near future. Questions with respect to these changes should be directed to your child’s current school office.
As a community, we are committed to making the transition of children and families to new sites as positive as possible. Our PTA organizations and building staff at all sites have been or will be working on welcoming activities for members of the new communities. The District has every confidence that all children impacted by these changes will receive the necessary support required to make this transition successful.
If your child is currently on an in-district or out-of-district boundary exception that was approved prior to January 27, 2007, please fill out the attached “School Preference” form and return to your child’s current school by the start of school on Friday, May 25. If your child’s boundary exception was approved after January 27, 2007, or if you would like to request an in-district boundary exception for next year, please be in contact with your current school office staff to obtain the appropriate form, unless it has already been completed. Decisions and notification with respect to these requests will be made as soon as possible, but no date has been determined at this time.
The Shoreline School District truly appreciates your patience throughout this process.
Sincerely,
Sue Walker
Superintendent
