Professional Development - Teacher Development Center (TDC)

The Teacher Development Center is a place for Shoreline staff to do in-depth collaborative work on special initiatives/projects with district facilitators and support services. TDC sessions can be done at building sites or, more commonly, at the Shoreline Center TDC Facility. The topics and format of the sessions is determined by individual TDC teams and then coordinated with their respective facilitators. For the 2002-03 school year, the district has allocated 13 days of funding for elementary schools, 18 days for middle schools, and 36 days for high schools. These days can also be pooled to allow for specialists and other job-alike groups to engage in cross-district planning sessions, vertical teaming, and other similar activities. Additional TDC sessions are arranged as needed using building funds.
